Learn to Love Yourself

PsyChotherapist & Life Coach

Losing weight isn’t the answer. If it was, one of your many diets or exercising binges would have “cured” you long ago. But anyone who has been through a lifetime of self-loathing and emotional eating (like I have) can tell you that the journey to healing starts within, and it’s a journey I’ll help you on during our one-on-one work together.

- Shalese

“I was often led to believe that emotional eating is a food problem, a habit problem, a problem that we are “broken and lazy” if I can’t get a hold of it. She has shown me how much deeper this issue goes and has shed light on the areas that truly needed the healing. And by looking at and healing those areas, the food area heals itself on its own. It's a magical combination!!!”

One-on-One Coaching Services

Individual coaching is ideal for those struggling with emotional eating, body image, and/or self-esteem issues. Through this process you will learn to start trusting yourself, loving yourself, and to become your own best friend.

Each session is expertly facilitated to make you feel safe and empowered. You will always be in control as I guide you through reconnection with your mind, body, and soul. I’ll gently help you tap into your past and identify the root traumatic experience(s) that caused you to lose love for yourself, before using a variety of techniques and tools to support you during the healing process. Our goal is not to relive your painful experiences, but to touch on them to finally heal from them. Every session is different and may include questions about your childhood, breathwork, role playing, assigned “homework” for between our sessions, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Inner child work is a therapeutic strategy used to help you connect with a younger version of yourself — someone who was hurt a long time ago and is still hurting. That’s because we come into this world as healed beings and along the way we learn from parents, teachers, friends or our community that who we are is not enough. We learn to change ourselves to fit in, and in the process, stop trusting ourselves.

Through inner child work, we reconnect to our true self and learn that we are whole as we are. With me as a guide, you’ll learn to re-parent and heal the wounded parts of yourself to find inner peace and wholeness.

  • Somatic healing is a therapeutic technique used to help you reconnect with the wisdom within your physical body. We have been taught that the rational brain is more important than our body's knowledge, and work so hard to logically make sense that we stop listening to our own wisdom. Most of us have learned to live from the neck up.

Somatic healing will support you in reconnecting the wisdom of your body with that of your mind and soul. Through this work you will gain the capacity to sit with challenging feelings and learn what information it is trying to share with you.

  • You are in control of this journey. I recommend all of my clients commit to six months of consistent coaching, but after that some clients continue with regular sessions while others transition to occasional check-ins when they feel it’s supportive. You get to decide how long your healing takes and when it’s “done.”

Wondering if Coaching is Right For You?

You’ve tried every workout program, every diet pill, every trendy eating plan, and none of it has worked. So I get it if you feel jaded and skeptical that one-on-one body image or emotional eating coaching with me will actually help. If that’s the case, I invite you to reach out so we can get to know each other before you commit. We’ll be acting as a team, after all, so it’s important that we’re both a good fit for each other. You can tell me a bit about your story, or ask some questions, and I can do the same. No pushing, no sales pitches, just curiosity about how I can help.
